Right on the beach so you can't beat the location. Unfortunately the hotel itself is not worth the price tag. If it were $250/night I'd give a much better review, but for $500/night - I will never do that again. There is no rinse station from the beach to the hotel, so you have to walk through the hotel covered in sand, which means there's sand and water everywhere on the floors. And also the room! We had to walk through the hotel to rinse off by the pool but never got it all so by night two I was sleeping on a sand castle. The fire alarm went off at 7am our first morning and we sat in the lobby for an hour. At no point did anyone come to tell us what was happening or when it was safe to go back to our room. At some point people were just getting up and leaving and so we followed. It was all weird. The beach is great and I'm sure the rooms with a balcony are better. Our room was tiny and no frills, so there was nowhere to really dry any bathing suits. Bring extras. There is a $45 resort fee but this place is far from a resort so I have no idea what that fee was for. My kids had a great time and come back in a heartbeat, but as the money mangare, I'm not sure i can justify the cost.

While our room was nicely updated and the bathroom was just cleaned and the bed clearly was just made, and was clean and comfortable, the rest of the room was not cleaned. There was ALOT of sand on the entire floor, as well as the table and the two chairs next to the table. The balcony is rusty and the wood floor has green moss/algae growing on it and the outside AC unit cover was rusted out and dripping condensation. The bottom of the curtain was very dirty, as well. The overall look of the hotel is old and the hallways and steps to get to the rooms are VERY dirty. I did not hear or see a vacuum cleaner or cleaning crew during our entire 4 day stay. I am from NJ and very used to old shore motels and hotels, but I was expecting more from Pleasant View Inn. The hotel common areas and rooms need to be properly cleaned. It was unacceptable, really. That being said, the front desk personnel were very nice and helpful, and free coffee is always appreciated.The view from our Queen Ocean View Room was beautiful, although we were not comfortable sitting out on the aforementioned rusty balcony. Luckily the weather was cloudy and rainy, so we didn't miss that part. Honestly, due to the condition and cleanliness of the hotel, we did not want to eat at the restaurant, so I can't provide a review of the food, but the bartenders were both very friendly and made great drinks. Both were females, although I cannot remember their names. I got a discounted rate by booking thru a 3rd party. If I had paid the normal rate, I would not have been happy and would have complained to management. The booking rate is way too high for the condition and cleanliness of this hotel and, unfortunately, I would never recommend this hotel in it's current condition.

Vacation was awesome! Food was great chante was the sweetest server.beach was perfect and so was the pool.
